Yeah. It’s def love it or hate it design. Other bumper I was looking at was Tom’s Racing (not reg Tom’s) front bumper. Some might say, it looks like Miata. |

Yeah I’m with Dadhawk on that one lol not really my taste. Haven’t seen the Tom’s racing one thought. Looks better than the normal Tom’s bumper

Something to do with some of that time! If you can solder, follow a simple wiring diagram, cut plywood reasonably straight, and use a router safely, you're set.

Depends the condition of your current car. If it doesn't have a lot of mileage, then I would go with the extra parts. They would make it more special and personal. If it is a daily driver with more miles on it, then I would go with a new TRD86 to extend the years of owning a 86 …

42k miles... awkward mike. Not too high or low mileage, that’s why it’s hard to decide.

Thanks, but I already have about 100 projects I am neglecting. I should probably get out of my jams and do something today.
One project I want to start is I want to build a smokehouse in my backyard. |

In a brand-name solution, I'm more a fan of Klipsch. Pretty good price on amazon right now: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0779GRFWF That said, if it's a big room, I still think the DIY route will be better. Especially for a sub. He said 'big room' and those subs are barely useful for a small bedroom. Or they just get flubby. My office setup is similar to these brand-name options: https://www.divine-audio.com/pecorino/ A friend's design which is similar is called the "Overnight Sensations" - I think you can even get flat-pack boxes for this one. Trick for finding the right place for your sub: Put it where you sit, then go around the room with an spl meter and do frequency sweeps to test the likely spots.

That's not nearly enough! I've been in this house for 5 years now (I think)... still not done with the HT. And if we get back to stable dual incomes ever again, I'll probably have to start the sound side of it all over again to go Atmos... Slow work takes time! Enjoy your projects! And your new TV setup.

Yet you recommend Def tech, known for harshness, second only to Paradigm... And I think Yamaha is known for brightness. When undersizing speakers like these options clearly are for the room, the dispersion and focus of the horns are likely beneficial. YMMV. whee. Also, I'd actually recommend he build a false wall ~1' from the real wall; flush-mount the TV, and good in-walls for the speakers. The space behind can also house properly sized subwoofer boxes (and by house, I mean mostly become...) Hard domes are harder to work with, but sound amazing done right. Horn loaded actually sorta makes it easier, because throat reflections can help tame the natural nastiness and peaks on the top end. For commercial stuff, they rarely take the time or $ to implement well (IMO). That said, I appreciated soft domes a bit more (though some of the ceramic domes are amazing... pushing closer to ribbon territory, and the best I've ever heard were ribbons.) C

The Tom's Racing one is the far superior of the two.
