Do check the pipe clearance on the passenger side. There may be rubbing on a couple of places...one is against the headlight housing. The other against metal on the frame. Not an issue with the FRS as the profile of the rear headlight allows for more clearance. You may also find routing the washer reservoir hose a lil tricky to route but you should be able to orient the hose to there's zero contact with any component (save for the spots where it's mounted). I had to use a nut, bolt, and lock nut to prevent the mouth of the washer reservoir from moving around. You should get an inch...inch and a half clearance between the elbow of the intercooler piping and the surface of the bumper cover. Due to the bumper cover profile, the FRS doesn't have this clearance issue. |

UPDATE on my CEL: Had the air filter cleaned and re-oiled and then cleaned off the MAF sensor. Engine code seems to be cleared and car is actually noticeably more powerful.
Turns out maintenance is important. |

Been battling my install since almost the beginning (August of last year). Continue to get the issue a lot of people have which is the CEL P0172. I've done everything I've found in this thread. Make sure the connection isn't too close to the alternator, clean the MAF, make sure the MAF is as vertical as possible. Checked all connections and everything is tight. I continue to get the CEL. Sometimes I'll get it within weeks, sometimes days. When everything is working it is such a joy to drive, but when it isn't working...
I just put in an order to CSG for a new air filter since mine is a little beat up(my kit is second hand) so I'm really hoping that will fix the issue. Otherwise I'm going to look into using the delicious tune with MAP sensor instead. Prefer to drive stock carb, but even more important is driving something reliable. I don't track and don't drive super hard all the time. I just want it working reliably. I'll report back one way or the other if the replacement filter works. |
