It revs noticeably smoother on 94. I get why everyone runs E85 where only 91 is available.

We have 93 where I live and E85 is still a significant jump from there.

Isn't E85 over 100 octane? Like 105 or something like that.

In the US, the actual percentage of ethanol varies, so octane would also. But, yeah it has a higher octane than premium.

Quoted from wiki...
"In the United States, the exact ratio of fuel ethanol to hydrocarbon may vary according to ASTM 5798 that specifies the allowable ethanol content in E85 as ranging from 51% to 83%"

Examples of octane mis-citation can be found at the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association titled "E85 Facts"[4] which cites a range of 100-105, and a document at the Texas State Energy Conservation Office titled "Ethanol",[5] which cites a 113 rating.

51-83% content sounds like a pretty big allowable margin.

I'd like to try an OFT E85 tune to see the difference. It would be perfect for whenever I take the car to the track.
We have literally one pump locally, about 45 minutes out at FT86motorsports.
Or I can buy 1000 liters in bulk.

It's pretty dangerous without flex fuel. And it doesn't store well because it attracts water. And then even if you can keep it water tight, it'll still go bad if you can't use it within a few months

I had some new tires, BFGoodrich G-Force Comp 2 A/S, installed at Discount Tire's store. I purchased them online and had them shipped to the store, ~8 miles from me. https://www.discounttire.com/buy-tir...-2-a-s/p/29878 They matched Tire Rack's $118.99 price and subtracted the $70. rebate. Their b&m stores and their online store are different entities so no sales tax and free shipping.
Getting them installed on Labor Day weekend was a mistake. I had to wait 1 1/2 hours, but they did a good job, no scratched wheels, $84. for installation.
So far I like them, a lot quieter then the Bridgestone Turanza EL400s that came with the car. We will see how they are on wet pavement.

Not today, but rather for most of this week, put 2000 miles on it in 3 days. Very quickly approaching 3000 miles on oil that's barely a week old. 😏

It doesn’t vary wildly from day to day it’s more of a seasonal thing where the E content goes up in the summer and drops in the winter to assist with cold starts. There is a theoretical cut off where there is no additional power gain on a NA at 12.5 compression ratio and it’s well bellow 85%.

The OTS E85 tune a quite conservative. The only dangerous thing without a flex sensor would be going back to E10 without reflashing. I’m lucky where I live to have E85 literally all over the city so I have no need to store it and burn through a tank in less than a week. If my car was only driven at random I’d probable pass on ethanol.

I have the regular Sport Comp2s. I'm happy with their wet performance so you should be fine with the A/S

So you can use 50% ethanol or 85% on the same tune safely? That don't sound right

If I recall the OTS tune is good for 60 to 90. I’ll have to double check. I’ve been running it for a little over ver a year without a flex sensor and randomly log and have literally never seen any knock or the IAM drop bellow 1.0.

I'd have to think it's running pretty rich then. Interesting
