Here's a sobering thought for Quebecers.

Since the majority of hospitalizations and severe illnesses are from the unvaccinated, Quebec has passed a new rule that a vaccination passport is now required to buy alcohol or cannabis.

interesting. even more interesting considering the crowd that usually staffs liquor stores.. unless there's going to be some sort of significant fining going on, i doubt they're going to care

Liquor in Quebec is sold in provincially owned SAQ stores, so it will be strictly enforced. Beer is sold in convenience stores there too.

The Ontario provincial owned liquor store monopoly LCBO, is also the single largest purchasing liquor retailer in the world. At least there are privately owned cannabis dispensaries, but all their purchasing goes through the province. In some areas there's 20 dispensaries in a 30 block stretch, on Queen St. W.

While I'm getting better, I am slightly peeved with my roommates behavior. I get he's full on COVID infected, but it irks me he just waltzes around the house coughing and hanging out in the common areas while sick. Then goes and smokes cigarettes.

As far as your sick roommate, I'd suggest you insist he wear a N95 mask when in the common areas and smoke only outside.
