Wish you had got it done here so I could compare it with the old one. Not allowed to order them into stock at the moment. Need some actual customers who get approved to do the job.

Me too, but your dealership seem to default to 'NO' when it comes to wanting to do any warranty work.

Otherwise, you'd be comparing the HPFP's now.

I'm glad I got the extended warranty, so this will likely be getting done at my 60K service regardless.

...if it actually works.

I was at a red light with a 2017 BRZ next to me. I heard crickets. So I turned my car off. Still heard crickets.

Sorry guys.

Maybe he was heading home from the pet store after picking up crickets for his pet lizards. Could happen. Just sayin'. Trying to keep the hope up here.

NEW FUEL PUMP RELEASED....

My car never had cricket unless I put some shady arco or shell gas ⛽️ in it. Like Spartarus said... it's probably the tolerance in the manufacturing process.

Just an FYI...I have already checked the 2017 86 per Toyota parts catalog and it does not show any 2017 already equipped with this new pump per the TSB. All listings show the SU003-06089 at the moment. This does not mean it wont happen at a later time but it is suggesting that the currently produced models are using the previous pump and not this new one. Also Tcoat no harm done on your input man. Appreciate the info because I've been looking into that as well.

If you had 57k on your 2013 FR-S and have had crickets since day one, would you take it in for this latest S-SB-0007-16 TSB?

Since my warranty is up at 60k which will likely before I put it away this winter, I figure why not...if it works then I get peace of mind....if not I will start modifying next year. Figure if I did the UEL headers and whole exhaust then it would have voided the warranty. And hope that mod would he loud/fun enough to forget about the crickets.

I'm at 50k now, I did it because I wanna get as much free work done as possible while under warranty, lol. If it still doesn't do the fix, at least it was worth a free try before either looking at aftermarket options or just continue to deal with it.

A few guys have gone in just before warranty was up and got a new pump even though they knew that it wouldn't change anything. The thought process was "new pump? Why not?". Nothing wrong with that as long as they don't get all pissy when the new pump chirps as well.

EDIT: LOL ya like Pooch just said.

Guilty as charged. Yes, I would do it as long as you can show you have the issue.

In my case, they didn't even check. I handed them the paperwork and said, "I have this problem". They replaced it.
