They do have the bZ4X there though (Toyota's EV SUV) that I had not seen before. It's definitely a "look we can build one that's as ugly as everyone elses" type car. What's with the extra long nose?

Yeah nothing on the Toyota website here yet either, can’t be too far away I’d imagine. I’d say it’ll be the same over there too and yeah I’d be more excited about the GR 86 than the long nosed SUV.

Unless they jumped the gun on the pricing.

Definitely would be great to start off around the same as the gen 1's

I hope you guys are being sarcastic, this is so clearly a screwup, wrong picture and date were used by some poor web content creation plebe at the dealership.

I’m very skeptical of that price, but a $200 bump seems almost random enough to be correct. Time will tell I guess.

The US Subaru site has the cheapest 2020 BRZ available - a Limited - at $28,845. If we use the Canadian differential in 2020 base/Limited pricing (the Limited is called the Sport-tech here, and the base is still sold in Canada) we get an estimated current price of a hypothetical base 2020 in the US of $28,845 * 0.892 = $25,729, which is very close to the $25,795 price for the base 2022 on the dealer site. I suppose it's possible it could be a legitimate price but it seems highly unlikely.

Hmm, the 2020 BRZ is only available as a Limited and starts at $28,845. That car comes with all of the niceties, like leather, heated seats, and keyless entry and start. The base 86 is still $27,780K and comes with none of that stuff.

There was a rumor back in 2020 when all sorts of leaks were hitting that Subaru was looking at a $30K starting price. Toyota was said to be targeting a $29K price.

So pretty much a $1200K increase for both if they keep the trims similar where BRZ comes with everything standard and the 86 losses everything.

Beyond that, this is an extensive refresh but not enough to justify a major cost increase. For me, at a certain price, the Veloster N starts looking like a good option.

The BRZ is coming in a Premium and Limited trim. That’s already been announced.

With these things seemingly all over Japan shouldn't we be seeing some press cars over here pretty soon?

I didn't see this posted, so sorry if this is a double-post.

Am really liking the STi accessories. Very tastefully minimalistic while representing some neat design bits. Wish the tires were thicker so it doesn't look so comically skinny relative to that awesome wing.

I still can't seem to get past that connecting line between the taillights. Maybe it'll look better in person but I'm not holding my breath...

I'm excited to see what GR does with the 86

Congrats to Subaru for managing to make it even uglier, which I didn't think was possible.
