Actually the speculation you refer to is based on what we have(actual pictures of 2022 BRZ and a teaser from Subaru),just to see if the 5th April reveal is about the GR86 until that day comes.

I see a next level hate in your comment for no reason

No hate just find it funny that there is so little to go on that people are resorting to comparing badge shapes of unknown versions of the model.
How on earth does looking at that badge confirm or deny that the April 5th reveal is about any particular model?

It is not about the badge ,but the lines above and under the badge, and nobody said it will confirm it.For me the lines don't match,i've searched all the 2022 brz photos, and it may be another model,so i don't expect much at 5th April and i'll be really happy if it is indeed the gr86.The hype is high,i just don't let it die, like so many others.

What i personally find funny ,is when people reject a car just for a fake vent or because it has an msrp for example $50k and not $48k etc

Whatever lets all hope is the reveal we want, less than a week left

There will be riots in the streets if it turns out to be a GR badged crossover EV!
The specialty badges get watered down by the companies so much each year that they have almost come to be meaningless. Even calling a base model 86 a "GR" seems excessive. What will the top line be? A GR SE? GR GT?

This is exactly what the marketing department wants to hear.

That is grossly over tired for anything other than a straight line!

If it isn't a Eurobeat inducing, drift happy, tofu delivery device, it should not be made.

I agree I thought it sounded a little excessive, but if they stick to stock cars in dedicated sports platforms and heavily modified cars from the standard platforms then I think you could justify it.

If we start getting a GR badge because the GR division tuned the suspension of a corolla... well then that massively dilutes the GR brand they are going for.

Overall I like where they are heading with the brand - In Australia (and I assume elsewhere) they have set-up a Gazoo Racing Club available only to GR owners - which looks a little more legit than some of the things manufacturers do.
