OMG I watched that a dozen times - so awesome! The sound, speed, the way the revs climbed, and of course 9k rpm redline on a FA20. Well done!

For reference where's the best places to pick up the oil pressure (& oil temp) on this engine?

Take note that the OEM Subaru oil gallery plug is threaded for 1/8 PT sensors.

You can probably use the stock oil pressure sensor location. It's pretty useless anyway. By the time the warning light turns on, the damage has already been done. It's the sensor below the oil filter housing, the one with the disconnected connector in the photo:

Been driving around with the stock oil pressure sensor disconnected. No CELs. I believe it's a simple switch that grounds itself to the block when there is no pressure detected, illuminating the warning lamp on the cluster. Hope this helps.
One question, if the oil pressure sensor factory, bad measurements? or you may ECU bad readings? If this does not work for snesibles sensor measurements, could be replaced by good sensor in that position for external gauge? It would be possible to connect cable and cable ECU external sensor gague the same?
one could try to connect to external gauge oil pressure sensor for readings best?

So instead of starting a new thread I'd figure I post here. Question is, I have a oil pressure gauge and now have an idea of my pressures.

On a cold start with rough ambient temp of 90F with 0W-20 pressure is between 90-100 after normal street driving in this temp the gauge drops to around 6-8psi at idle. Is that normal? Seems awful low to me, and after a 20min track session can bounce around 4psi.

I know I will not be running 0W-20 with these temps and most certainly not on the track anymore, just want to make sure my gauge is reading correctly.

Gauge is tapped in at the galley plug by the compressor.

I'm tapped in to the same spot with a Prosport premium pressure sender hooked up to the P3cars vent gauge.

Running Amsoil 5w30

my idle pressue is around 28psi and on track at redline I was at 55psi w/ temps at 215. cold start pressures are around 100psi

I am running the AVO Turboworld oil cooler.

Is that idle pressure at full operating temp. I only drop down low after extended driving in hotter climate.

Yea, full operating temp and oil at about 196. Even after coming off track with the oil temps at 220 I was still at 25psi

Ok thanks hopefully someone will be able to chime in with 0W20, but now I know what to look for when I bump up to the 30 weight.
