As an aside to this thread, Subarus weirdly don’t have the usual / expected “new car” smell.
Been in a few brand new Subarus just off the delivery truck and they all smell the same. Don’t know what they’re doing different at the Gunma plant but whatever it is their vehicles are not arriving here with new car smell Last edited by joro2; 09-22-2020 at 12:01 AM. |

The 303....is that also good for the exterior body? I'm a bit unclear about if its good for that as i see it can be applied to wheels and grilles. At the moment, I think i will be getting Griots interior cleaner as well as the speed shine and think the 303 would be for interior UV protection and the tires and grille. Does this sound right?

one time, i was eating a tuna sandwich driving home and a mound of tuna fell out of the sammie, down between the seat and console. couldnt reach it. i did what anyone else would do. i took the front seats out and got it. shop vac'd while i had it all open too.
taking the front seats out doesnt take long, you need a special e10 socket for some of the bolts.

Replace the cabin filter. Then, take it to a detailer for an ozone treatment.

The commercial equipment does a really REALLY good job of eliminating odours. Can even clear up a car that has been smoked in. The cheap consumer units available don't do anything but make lots of noise and pretend to work.

They did make me cry a little hammering down the lug nuts on the NSX, then clicking the torque wrench, which showed it was clearly already over spec. |

As for smells, a good filter might help, but the air is not the real source of the smell. Something is releasing odors into the air. That's what you must find and remedy. Its either musty carpet, or something spilled in a seat cushion, etc.
The worst I've ever dealt with was a package of raw meat left in a grocery bag in the back seat for several days in the Texas heat. Juices from the meat leaked through the bag and soaked into a seat cushion. That was a horrible, horrible smell that took months to get out. |

How many times do I have to tell you to get the dead hookers out of the car immediately. You have any idea how many people get caught by the smell of the body?
