It wouldn't. It would have been a Toyota even if Scion was still around. The only reason the 86 was a Scion was it fit their price point and demographic.

I actually feel like it's a lot harder to add stuff that doesn't ruin the overall looks of the car. For a useful example of what not to do, try any 90s/00s Veilside kits.

The door garnish is the one piece that seems to bug a lot of people (myself included): It only underlines the form-over-function nature of the door "vent"

The rest of it looks understated, but adds purpose to the car.

If the thing makes it harder to wash the car, it had better have a damn good reason to be there. That's my overall philosophy.

We still have that today with the ugly Liberty Walk kits on stretched tires. An ugly part of history and repeating itself.

If the folks down the hall can make a F Track Edition, TRD can make something function for the Supra. It's only a matter of time.

I get but don't get the door garnish. The "oh but wait, the fake vents are functional"... "if you remove the plastic covers and cut the open a hole in the metal". . Meanwhile, TRD is like, "be gone fake vent, cover that shit".

Ouch.
The 86 comes in .5 inch under 14 feet long. Qualifies it for a tiny car discount on WS Ferries.

New Supra is too long. Just another porky land barge. Shaving off the pointy nose overhang would improve the looks a lot.

I'll keep the 86 for now.

This is when one realizes that sports cars have gotten real ugly in recent times.

This has probably been said by every group of sports car owners since day one. There are no doubt many out there that thought the idolized crap of the 90s were the ugliest sports cars ever made compared to their 1970s models. The only difference is that with the current ease of communication the most recent generation can more easily force their subjective opinion upon the the masses.

Toyota is sure advertising the heck out of the coming Supra. I think I saw about 7 Supra commercials during the Daytona 500. I am not a big NASCAR fan but this is the one race of the year that I will look in on. That is probably true of a lot of race fans and may be why Toyota went all in with the adverting of Fox during the race. I am now sick of Elton John's version of Pinball Wizard! Too bad the FR-S and 86 never got that level of marketing.
