El Cheapo budget build. Gutted header and FP, Injen intake, OFT OFS E85 Stg 2 tune.

They took a long time to find the signal wire for RPM and my IAT was over 120 (thier fan was useless) I'm sure it would have been over 200 HP, but the engine pulls timing with the IAT so high. Ah well, for the money, the numbers are great.

1st dyno pic are “stock” (Mishimoto inlet tube and STI axle back exhaust) runs.

2nd dyno pic is with the HKS GT-Spec catted header installed and a BMC drop in air filter comparing it to stock.

An extra 11.4kW (15hp) at the wheels and more low end torque. If you’re sitting on the fence about getting a header and tune, I’d recommend it.

That flattened torque curve (+ 25 lb-ft at 4K rpm), I suspect, is the key to your happiness, more so than the 15 hp overall gain.

Yeah 100%, the improved low down torque is the winner here. You do notice the extra power a bit up top, but no where near as much as the low end torque. The tuner did a really good job with it. It is just a linear pull to redline and better up hills and putting around town. It sounds better too, the HKS headers are a nice compliment to the car.

BTW the torque measurement is in newton metres (Nm) so less than 25 lb-ft, around 18 lb-ft, so still significant.

Opps, wasn't paying attention to the scales, the flatness of the torque curve had me mesmerized I guess. The HKS Header you are running is an EL design, right?

HKS GT-Spec, equal length and catted too.

Being legal was a big requirement for me, so I went catted headers. I could of gone catless for a lot cheaper.
