**Just realized the title of this thread. But can someone point me in right direction.**

New to this chassis but not to autox. I've been autoxing my S13 hatch since 2007 under DSP for fun. The SF Bay Area SCCA (and UFO - RIP) group might recognize me/my car.

I just picked up a 2020 86 with the TRD handling package (18-inch wheels, Michelin PS4, Brembo calipers, Sachs dampers, underbody panels). I know i can change the front sway bar and stay in stock class.

My question is, what class is the car in? (I started looking at posts from late 2018 to this page.) DS? CS?

I plan on making this a OEM+ build, so i'll be adding (all TRD) springs, sway bars, rear lip spoiler and the 18-in wheels (+35 offset, the stocks are +48). What does this fall in? STX, SSC?

Thanks,

Ryan

There is a special exception for the 86, that you can run CS with some of the mods you listed.
"Toyota
86 (with TRD Lowering Springs, TRD Sway Bar Kit, and TRD 17-in. Forged Wheel) (2017-20)"
The wheels you are thinking about should bump you up to STX.
The addition of the lip spoiler would bump you up again to DSP.

You could remain in Street with 18" wheels within +/- 7mm of stock offset iirc.
The lip would bump up to street prepared.

Provided the lip spoiler is a TRD accessory part, wouldn't it still be legal for STX?

The STI front lip (or replica) on the BRZ is legal (confirmed a few years back) because it's advertised for looks only, but I don't believe a rear lip spoiler would be allowed in STX.

14.2.F. Addition of spoilers, splitters, rear wings, bumper covers, valances, side
skirts, and non-functional scoops/vents is allowed provided that either:
1. It is a production part which is standard or optional equipment of a
US model of the vehicle. (“Model” is defined in Section 12.)
2021 SCCA® National Solo® Rules — 87
Section 14
2. It is listed in the vehicle manufacturer’s US accessory catalog for that
vehicle for normal highway use. This does not allow for parts sold
through a manufacturer’s performance catalog (e.g., Ford Racing,
HPD, Mazdaspeed, Mopar Performance, Mugen, NISMO, SPT, TRD,
etc).

Awkwardly written, honestly contact your local tech or write a letter to national. Looks like it may fall under section 1 if it matches the release series 1.0 spoiler or if there was another special edition that had the spoiler, if it wasn't offered as part of an options package then it falls under .2 and isn't allowed.

If it's listed in the manufacturer's accessory catalog (Subaru/Toyota) then it's ok. That's why I snagged up a mint 2017 Subaru BRZ Accessories booklet. So if I ever get the 'STi' under spoiler kit, I have proof it's legal.

That's not what makes it legal. It's that it was standard equipment on some models.

Incorrect.
Strat61caster posted the rule just above your and mine's post. 14.2.F 1&2
He just highlighted a different part.

"2. It is listed in the vehicle manufacturer’s US accessory catalog for that vehicle for normal highway use."

It excludes trd catalog, sti is also implied although it is not specifically listed.
Again I'd contact local or national tech for an answer.

Co-drove my first SCCA event this weekend with sfrauto and got hooked again. Drove in AS but saw a bunch of BRZs who were really quick.

Doing some research on maybe trying the STX class this year but don't have a car yet so also doing some looking. Found one for sale locally here on the forums but has a few modifications. Would any of these be legal?

Perrin Inlet Tube/Sound Tube Delete
Ace CS400 Header
Delicious Tuning Ace Header Tune (dyno tuned at Mann by Gary of Delicious)
CSG Touring86 Catback
Mann Engineering Type-25 Coilovers
SPC Rear Camber/Toe Arms
Brembo GT Brake Kit Front & Rear (uses 2004 STi 5x100 rotors and 2004-2015 STi pads)

Also a long shot, but would anyone here in the Bay Area let me co-drive their STX car? I'll pay for your event fees/gas/consumables and the opportunity. I'm a fairly competent driver, would be great to at least get to drive one before investing (buying a car and necessary parts/mods to be at least decent).

Spc camber arms would need a legal bushing, swap toe arms back to factory and it looks legal to me. You'll want to pick up camber plates, you'll want -4 degrees. Otherwise that looks like a great starting point for an stx car. Make sure you get stock parts and tuning stuff otherwise selling in ca will suck.

Post on the sfr solo Facebook page, all the stxers are on there, better chance someone with a car will see it. Codriver might not happen before covid is over though.

Thanks! Just found the facebook group and will post soon for the next event. They allowed co-driving this weekend, but you can't be both inside the car if you're not from the same household.

Going to message the seller and ask if he has the stock parts. Worst case, I can probably scour CL and the classifieds for stock parts.

Strat already noted why this isn't quite right. I thought Sti was called out at some point as an example of a manufacturer performance part line not included, npbut maybe it was just TRD... Rules are a pain the way they're written. Anyway, still legal in STX for different reasons. At least the lip, skirts, spats. Skirts are nice cone protection.
