Found the comment section more entertaining than Ralf’s opinion!

Some people are starting to find HAM is slow …on signing.
Is it getting out of hand?

Does it just confirm his me, me, me ego attitude for more or a Mercedes trick to downplay his greatness & get a better bargain out of him? Or is he still thinking of F1 retirement while he is tops.

Mercedes doesn't need Hamilton to win the championship this year. Or any year for the past 7. Especially if he can't go anywhere else. Put Russell in the seat and let's move on.

Teams have backed up the idea for sprint races before the Grand Prix. It basically means that there will be no second or third practice. Qualifying, which will now take place after first practice, will now determine your placement on the sprint race. Which is approx 100km. The top winners of the sprint would earn half the points on the Grand Prix. Respectively filling the grid in the order the sprint finished.

Conceptually, is a good, not great idea. Gives the smaller teams a chance to score points. But my biggest issue is the sprint on a course like Monaco, where it is virtually impossible to overtake. That plus vehicles breaking and having to replace parts that can mean getting a penalty.

I thought they were planning to do some sort of reversed grid sprint races the finishing position of which would be your grid position for the GP. And then the GP finishing order would be reversed for the next sprint race.

This new one seems like it just means the bigger teams would wind up with more points at the end, since they would basically win both.

I like the knockout format, it is exciting at tracks that do not produce good racing like Monaco. I don't see what they gain by having a sprint race determine the GP qualifying order, especially if they are awarding points. They would be widening the gap between the top teams even farther.

Kind of pointless.... with that format it seems unlikely that the results of the sprint race will differ that much from qualifying. Sure, once in a while there will be an accident or someone will f*ck up the start, but otherwise their respective pace will be about the same.

At least with F2-style reverse grid sprint races we could enjoy watching Hamilton and Max cutting their way through the field while Ricciardo or Alonso try to fend them off.

Is this even politically correct for 2021?
I think HAM should take it to himself in
his quests to involve more women.

As per his statement last week
“A significant part of the new agreement builds upon the joint
commitment to greater diversity and inclusion in motorsport
that was made last year by Lewis and Mercedes. This will take
the form of a joint charitable foundation, which will have
the mission of supporting greater diversity and inclusion

If it’s about good women Drivers
I always think back to one classy rally driver:
Michele Mouton but that’s far from F1…

Can’t wait for it to begin -> Bahrain Grand Prix on March 28

Most of the new Liveries are out I think only Williams
are left for their announcement this Friday.

The ones I like to date are

Alpine https://www.alpinecars.com/en/racing/
The tail if you look fast reminds me of HAAS

AM https://www.astonmartinf1.com/en-GB/amr21
The pictures till now that I’ve seen the green looks a bit bland

but may be due to the same color background they used for
the photo op.
