some ppl who had issues after performing the valve spring recall spent over $10k to get a replacement fa20... i think $8k is a steal for a legendary motor |

I toyed with the idea of going for something with more power or even throwing a turbo on however as far as reliability going much over stock power then you're dealing with a car that just isn't engineered for it for track duty. |

To do this swap you are looking at $9K just for the engine. There will still be all the costs invo;ved in a swap. Even doing it yourself you would be lucky to come in under $12K. If you had to pay somebody well...

For a track car I can see this swap happening. For a street car, forget it, not a chance you're going to get canbus fonctionning for cheap (or at all) so it'll be a hacked job with the engine running and the rest of the car electronics worked on miracles and facebook likes. For a track toy, I can see this as an interesting option to an LS swap. Also, the 305hp number is on the type R civic, which has catalytic converters and is factory tuned with emissions and fuel usage as a concern. In a full free flowing exhaust with an agressive tunning, this will probably be closer to 350 or so, putting it into v8 power territory.
