Nasa TT exhaust clairification

I’m looking for a bit of clarification on NASA TT exhaust points.

The 2015 rule is the following:

22) Modification, porting, or replacement of the BMT exhaust manifold or header(s) (includes any/all other exhaust and catalytic converter modifications) +5 23) Any modification to the BTM exhaust piping and/or catalytic converter (includes muffler modification or replacement) +3
24) Non-BTM or modified resonator(s) or muffler(s) only (no exhaust piping modifications) +1

So is a header 5pts(22) and the rest of the exhaust is 3pts(23) or is the entire exhaust system 5 pts(22). Conversely is just a header 8 points encompassing 22 and 23.

I’m not looking to debate whether or not these are worthwhile points.

Entire system is +5
Any modification to header alone, regardless of the rest makes it +5, so the rest is 0
Anything after header is +3 regardless of the rest of exhaust.
Muffler only +1.

So if I take off the rear muffler at the flange and add a straight pipe it's 1 point or no. Because technically it is an exhaust pipe modification. I don't know how picky NASA is.

1 point. The pickiness is determined by the director, your competitors, and how fast you are.

^^^ +1

Yes, it is technically exhaust piping, but that's there to prevent people from cutting out just the cat and replacing it with the same diameter pipe to invoke just the previous +1 only mod for catalytic converter.

The addition of 'includes muffler modification' is there to say that the +1 muffler mod has been invoked as soon as you touch the catalytic coverter
