... and then they want to buy an S2k? The reality is that track weekends aren't cheap, but most people will know after that first day whether this is something they are going to do as often as they can afford or if it just isn't for them. The learning curve and the quality of the instructor/classroom instruction can have a great effect on which way they go.

Right. I probably have about $4k in track fees and $6k in consumables and travel over the past 2 years, but I don't have a heavily modded car. I've come pretty damn far I have to say, and I wouldn't have done it any other way.

So, is anyone interested? We're looking at 5 dates this year if we get the interest. I understand that it's not as appealing to do it at other major tracks, but it's either this, or piggybacking on NASA's dates and fees.

I like the location, since I'm close. I can't commit to 5 but I would at least do one .

Used to live in Central Florida but back up in MD now. I have some buddies in Jax and also Gainesville. I'd consider coming down for a long weekend for an event to try it out. I am a very active autocrosser but have not done any track-time yet. The FIRM is supposed to be pretty sweet. Would/could this be a bring a friend thing if they have a different model vehicle?

Would love updates!

We can see how many FRS/BRZ can beat a 150WHP FWD Economy car.

I've never done a track day before but I've always been interested... I'm not into Autocross, but always liked the idea of a real track.

I'm definitely curious enough to say that I would do 1 event.

A 150WHP FWD Economy car, or a 150WHP FWD Economy car that is gutted and prepped for the racetrack?

It seems like we haven't met the minimum commitment level for using FIRM, so what we plan to do is to go with NASA if everything works out. Since they have some of the best contingencies available. We'll have our own scoring/timing sheet alongside their normal NASA classes, so technically we'll be running in 2 classes and if we make it big enough, could win double trophies. Sebring, RRR and Daytona to start, and next year hopefully add VIR, RA and CMP. This year we'll dedicate to building a roster and getting everyone some instruction if necessary to get their TT licenses (only $10 with NASA). I can't think of a different way to do this that won't end up in a significant cash injection from the organizers. @CSG Mike, is CSG on board to provide 86CUP pricing to our competitors in the east coast? I'd be willing to step up in driver's meetings for the plug.
