The only Ferrari I ever lusted after was a 275 GTB/4. As a 19 year old I had the opportunity to meet Heintz Bade in his shop in Timonium Maryland. He had a 275 GTB/4 in his shop. I asked him if I could sit in it,he said sure! Afterwards I asked if he was concerned someone would drive it away. He said,no because it's v12 engine was sitting at the other end of the shop.

Heinz Werner Bade

When looking back at club history, we often focus on events rather than people. From time to time we’ll
devote space to some of the important people in our Chesapeake Region history who made major
contributions to Porsche and the club. One such person is Heinz Werner Bade (always include the middle
name, please!), who is clearly one of the best Porsche engine mechanics around--and not just in Maryland,
but the world. Heinz focused his engine building skills in support of a few famous local race drivers whose
names are instantly recognized, such as Bruce Jennings and Mike Keyser, and much of these drivers’
success is due in part to Heinz’ outstanding skills. Remember, the car must be as good as humanly
possible, even for expert drivers, if you want to win a race.
Heinz knows many of the world’s greatest drivers as he has participated in hundreds, if not thousands, of
major races over his long career building engines. He has participated in LeMans, Sebring, local SCCA
races, and many more. It is rumored that Porsche’s famous racing boss, Huschke von Hanstein, doesn’t
care much for Heinz, for the obvious reason that Heinz can prepare an engine as good as, or perhaps even
better than, many of the Porsche works mechanics.
Heinz started his first engine and repair shop in Timonium in the early 60’s, at 2020 N York Rd, under the
name of Heinz Bade Motors. Due to some legal issues, Heinz soon changed it to Timo Corp, and many have
wondered what that stood for. It is simple, really--Timo is the first four letters of Timonium. Heinz and his
late wife Carole lived on a nice farm at the northern reaches of Baltimore County, just west of I-83. He
recently sold that and moved to Parkton where he has a wonderful workshop and still builds engines for
those special few. Heinz also has some dealership experience in his past, such as Lamborghini, and he still
owns a car from that part of his past.

The only other modern Ferrari that approaches its sexiness is the LaFerrari.
I dig it but it bothers me that the black stripe stops at the intake vent and doesn't wrap around the rear quarter panel.

Still my favorite Ferrari model:

I still like cars like the F40, 360, and Diablo/Countach better than anything either of those companys modern offerings.
