Update: I got my boss to put VIN through our system at work to track my car and it turns out the car arrived in the country on the 6th. So it seems there are 2 boats

So i rang up to find some answers. Spoke to the sales manager and he tells me the car goes on wholesale on the 8th of next month. What a fuckaround. Not to happy about this

So the cars are just sitting around waiting for that date? That's a bit shit. At the moment, I couldn't even track down an MY14 if I wanted one, so what are they waiting for?

What will be happening is they'll hold on to them until a its closer to the launch date and then send most of them out so everyone who has ordered one will receive their car around the same time. They do this all the time with new models. I'm pissed cause i wasn't told any of this until yesterday and it means my car will be almost 2 months old by the time i take delivery. I wanted the least amount of people to drive my car before me as possible

Yeah, fair enough. I'm a little ticked off because my dealer can't get me any information, which means I can't plan anything like time off to pick it up and get it tinted, etc. While I'm not particularly happy about the idea of the car being in the country and waiting for some random date, I'd honestly just like some communication from Toyota.

Good luck everyone, I hope cars do arrive soon but just take what your dealers say with a grain of salt. IMO, if the car isn't physically in the country, I don't think think the dealers know what is going on.

When did you order? There's a guy on Whirlpool that said his is arriving in September, but he only signed the deal a few days ago.

I don't know about the other guys, but I signed in early May, but took over an order that someone had cancelled.

Not sure if that means you're likely to have to wait that long or what. Hopefully not!
