I've tried playing games on larger screens, and honestly I don't really like it much above 27". I realize that's probably not normal!

I do enjoy playing on a wider setup though (as I mentioned 3x27" monitors) on some games that support it.

I never tried multiple monitors. That should be interesting to try.

But 43" 4K is just like 4x 21" 1080P monitors fused together in a square arrangement. I have to admit it takes some time to get used to.

Well, with 3x27" you get a wider view which in most cases is more useful than a "taller" view. Also, with 4K do you get a wider view or just a more detailed view?

This is a screen shot from Fallout New Vegas. Where the HUD shows at the bottom is the limit of a single monitor. The rest appears on the left/right monitor and would not be there on a single monitor. It is basically a widescreen monitor view except spread across 2 monitors.

I like 3 monitors better than 1 because I can angle the 3 monitors to appear more in my peripheral vision.

This is particularly useful in something like MS Flight Sim that allows you to set it up with 3 different camera angles in the monitors. You can have the windshield view in the middle monitor and the side window views in the side monitor. Because the camera in the sideviews is as if you were looking straight out them it is a more natural extended view.

In a game like Fallout, it still uses one camera even in widescreen so there is distortion on the left and right as seen in this shot to maintain the 3d prospective.

FYI - GTA FREE until the 21st!

Perhaps this is old news... I am not a gamer; so forgive me if you all know already:

Epic is giving away a free, fully functional PC version of Grand Theft Auto through the 21st. The price goes back up after the 21st, but if you download now it is yours forever for free...

Enjoy!

I am not sure maybe I should change field of view to get a wider view. Do you change fov with 3 monitors?

No, in most games that supports it, it will automatically show the additional real estate when you select the resolution 5760x1080. This is the one camera view (what you see in most video games)

In games like MS Flight Sim that allow a more windowed approach you create additional windows locked on the side views and lock them on the appropriate monitors. It's a little more work but to me the effect is better.

@mrg666 I also should have mentioned above you have to have a video card that supports monitor spanning. With an AMD card it's called Eyefinity, I believe in Nvidia it's called "Surround" but not 100% sure.

I'm the same way. I feel like I am straining to see everything on screen with a larger monitor.

Me too, but I primarily use multiple monitors for photo and video processing so focus on pixel density and factory calibrated ICC profiles, something hard to find at a reasonable price on larger screens.

Yea, I think that's part of the reason I've never really enjoyed console gaming outside casual stuff. I feel completely disengaged from it because of the distance from the screen.

I'm just starting to get into VR (got a Quest for Christmas) and so far I'm enjoying that a good bit because it is closer to PC gaming.

Agree with you completely! that was 1 of the reasons why I switched to Valorant as well.

I have a weekly GTA night with autox friends, it starts in about 15 minutes, actually.

Great game to mess around in, especially with our 16 match playlist, mostly racing, with some death match type stuff (DUNES ARENA IS AMAZING). Haven't delved into much of anything else to do on GTA Online, other than doing a heist every day over the Christmas break, with whoever in the group was on and down to clown.

I did pick up the free copy, and will probably do all the mods on the epic account.
