Quiting Smoking...
Well if you are a Arizona stationed FR-S/BRZ and attend the Scottsdale Pavilions car show from time to time you will probably catch me driving a black FR-S. The minute I arrive at the show it is the same routine, find a parking space as fast as I can (usually with all the other FR-S/BRZ owners), jump out my car and fire up a cigarette. AS the night goes on I will usually chain smoke an entire pack of Marlboro blend 27 100's. Well I have not had a single drag off a cigarette in 1.5 days and I really would like to keep it this way. To all you Ex-smokes out there, I would love to hear some great advise that helped you quit smoking. Truly any advise would be great!
Sorry for the rambling -bobby |

First calculate how much money you spend a year on cigs and look at your bank account. Find a hobby like working out or working on cars. Hang out with friends who don't smoke.
Youre making progress by wanting to quit which is good. Not much of a smoker here but good luck.

You just gotta make it a few weeks. As soon as you start to notice how much better you feel physically, you won't want to go back to smoking. Oh, and the extra money in the bank account is nice.
I would change the avatar, but that's just me. One of the worst things for me was watching someone in a movie take a drag. They always make it look so cool and satisfying. |

Did huffing keyboard cleaner help you stray away from meth?

I'm a non smoker and it's not about the cigarette...
but I need to stop spending my money at starbucks... too much expense. I guess the same principle applies to me. Calculate how much you spend... |

Probably not for him, but for me it did -- lemony
In all honesty, it's just pure willpower for me. I did the electric sig for a while-- turned to it due to stress. After the stress went away from work, the urge went with it. |

I don't know if it would work for you, but chew gum. Not the nicotine ones, just regular gum. It works for me cause I needed to keep my mouth busy.

what I have found works for the few times I quit smoking (family vacations , jobs etc, for extended periods) was finding something to do. I notice I only smoke when my brain is rushing or I'm idle. It's not easy and the first 3 days sucked so bad , but I really didn't have an urge to smoke until I would hang out with friends who smoked or was drinking. Just my $0.02

I found that once I got past a certain point I couldn't go back even if I wanted to. You don't realize how good it is not to smoke until you've quit for a while. You just feel better, have more energy, and all around everything is better. I've had a cigars/prime times every once and a while since i quit and it just makes you feel like shit and does nothing for you. Good on you for trying to quit!
