Yeah my mechanic did mention to me that the exhaust was kinda wonky, and my front pipe bolt worked itself loose after I installed the engine mounts. After I installed the alum 1 piece driveshaft, the noise is just too much. That was really the straw that broke the camel's back. I'll be getting a carbon driveshaft eventually, as I hear it gives you all of the benefits of a 1 piece driveshaft without the NVH. But hopefully the hangers will tame the resonance around 2600-2900 rpm, which is exactly where I am usually when driving in the city.

Very interesting.

I love my perrin 2.5 catback but there is considerable resonance in the cabin (not sure I would call it drone) between 2.5K and 3.5K rpm both on accel/decel, which is the range I'm always in for city driving. Totally quiet at idle and highway cruising. Significantly more resonance than my magnaflow CB ever had.

Ordered some hangers as someone else has noted it improved the resonance a bit. Will report back once I have them installed!

I received a second email today saying they shipped. The October date must have been an error. Should have them around July 19th.

I received an email back from Blackhawk japan. They currently have these in stock for anyone looking.

Installed them over the weekend on my TRD cat-back. Although not entirely eliminated, the drone/resonance is noticeably reduced.

I think it's most intrusive during decel, there's a bit during accel, but none during cruising.

Overall a nice improvement; I'm happy with the change.

I installed them today. I agree with NLSP that they didn't eliminate the droning but they did reduce it, especially at certain particularly bad and buzzy RPMs. Worth the money imo.

I installed the TRD catback last night with the factory hangers. The new hangers showed up today 3 business days early(super fast)
Paired with a gruppe-s header and overpipe with the stock front pipe.

Stock hangers: At cruise the exhaust doesn't drone at all but under load and on deceleration I was getting some serious drone frequencies(for me). Especially in the 2500-3500 range. Deceleration was noticably worse. My ears are sensitive to pressure changes and were a bit sore when I got home from work.
I could see it in the rear view mirror shaking a noticably.

Tossed all five new hangers on. A intial observation; the catback has more left/right play. Maybe that will go away once the silicone lube dries up.

Then I went for a 20 minute drive. Noticeably less drone under load and on decel in the 2500-3500 range. The decel is still where it drones the worst. It didn't eliminate it entirely, but well worth $70. Enough to say I would be uninstalling this catback without the hangers. I may or may not keep it as I find it bordering too loud.

Look at CSG touring spec or sti axle back. All solid options. I also enjoy my mxp SP

I'd like an STi axleback but they're $2200+cad with shipping and duty.
The fujitsubo authorize S axleback is sitting in my kart. Just waiting to pull the trigger.

Installed the hangers today!

My hangers must have been bad. Here's an example - doesn't look too bad

But then you compare with these

Which look a lot more cushy.

The difference for me personally is pretty big. Every part of the drive is quieter. Startup, idle, highway cruise, WOT, even turning the ignition off. Didn't realize how much of the noise was due to the old hangers. The resonance at 2600-2900 rpm is completely gone. I actually heard wind for the first time in I don't know how long. In certain gears and at certain engine speeds, I can barely hear anything at all. Very very worthwhile mod, I'm extremely satisfied, but like I said, my hangers must have been quite loosey goosey

Good choice, I've considered the Authorize S before.

Just a heads up, I noticed some retailers don't list the two different versions of the Authorize S, so just make sure you get the right part number to fit your mid-pipe:

360-23111 for 2013-2016
360-23132 for 2017+

Probably order it around black Friday sales and save a bit.

Regarding droning on decel, why is engine braking so loud anyway? I definitely notice the noises the most on decel.
