This. Where it’s made doesn’t matter, it depends on who set up the process, in this case Ford.

My 2007 BMW 335i sedan made in Germany (Munich) felt exactly the same as the 2007 BMW 335i coupe made in a different part of Germany (Regensburg), and felt exactly the same as my current 2011 BMW 335i sedan made in South Africa. Build quality is set by the process and design of the car. Where you build it doesn’t matter.

It’s only false if Ford doesn’t have their shit together. Other brands have long figured out how to make identical vehicles in facilities on opposite sides of the world.

If you want style, the Santa Cruz is the way to go. But outside of that, the Maverick makes the most sense. Credit Ford's expertise in building trucks. I'd venture a guess that those extra inches here and there were chosen for a specific reason, and many truck buyers will find the Santa Cruz is just that little bit deficient where it matters most.

Also, f* the Maverick can be had for cheap. Not sure how they managed that.

His statement is true.
The standards are set by the parent company. It sould not matter what country it is actually made in if those standards are followed.
Now, if the standards are not followed that means they probably aren't elsewhere as well so we are back to the country not mattering.

Our plants, be they in China, Mexico, Canada or the US will all put out exactly the same quality parts since the standards are very heavily (it is a German company after all) regardless of where you are.

BMW and MB in China both have this struggle, the difference there is still significant. In the past decade, for the higher trims and models, the imported market was big.
This is not unusual on OEMs if you look in details. Nissan Japan vs USA has differences. Also, some items are normally removed depending on the market due to availability and technology,

From materials perspective, the source of the materials, heat treatment, surface treatment, technologies and so on impacts on that.
