After purchasing the Motiv overpipe and test pipe, I went ahead and picked up a catted front pipe. Like the other Motiv products, the catted pipe is perfect. I can't say enough good things about Motiv's products and their customer service.

I cannot wait until they produce a header! Please, please, please tell me this is on the drawing board!

Well if they haven't made one in the 6 years prior to the thread resurrection I think there is little hope they will start now.

Unfortunately for me I purchased a motiv concepts midpipe/overpipe from a fellow ft86club member a while back (2013) and just recently found this when I was changing out brake pads.

It looks like the HFC cracked and not the actual weld.

No way! I literally had the exact same thing just happen to mine this week. Glad I'm not the only one

"Exact same" except not exactly the same because yours didn't split at a weld, did it?

Mine did not split at the weld. It split just before the weld. Almost looks like a perfect cut

While Motiv does tout a "lifetime warranty", I'm not sure it would cover it if the point of failure was at the catalytic converter which obviously wasn't made by them. Still wouldn't hurt to contact them though and see what your options are.

Welds very rarely themselves crack, it is almost always the base metals that cracks next to the weld with few exceptions. The weld is stronger than the base most of the time.
