Need a 17 inch rim to fit 275 drag tires

I am limited by the brakes to 17s so I have been trying to come up with a cheap wheel to run 275 drag tires.
Car is stock height. I also did the 5 x 114.3 conversion.

I'd *guess* that 17x9 +42 apex arc-8 would work... Kinda on the skinny side for 275 but may be better for drag anyway?

I ordered a set of 255/35/19 Federal 595 RS-RR
Pretty cheap tires. I have 245s Federal 595SS they do pretty well when I hit 2nd at the track. 1st gear spins quite a bit though.

Enkei makes RPF1s in 17x9.5 in 5x114 since you’re running those hubs. Should be able to fit a 275 on those. Pretty inexpensive too.

If you want CHEAP wheels, XXR makes tons of styles, offsets and widths that would accommodate a 275 easily for under $650 all 4 wheels shipped.

ARC-8 gets my vote though.

Discounttiredirect has a discount on the Nitto NT555R tires, I just bought a set to test them.

What size of wheel will you be running?
Looking forward to your review.
The federals rr I ordered are supposed to hook pretty well.
They also run about 10mm big for their size from reviews.

Wow great deal. What is the discount?
It’s probably to clear out inventory for the new NT555R2.

I'm going to be running the 17x9 ARC-8.
To be clear, I'm going to run a 245 square setup with these Nittos. If 245s won't hold in the back, I'll manage that with boost by gear.

My car is getting a lot of work done and I recently became a single income household, so the car is on the back burner until I can feel comfortable, so likely next year I'll have it running. Aiming for 350/400whp conservatively with a gt3076r.
The reason I didn't stay with a street tire was because my experience in this car is that with stiff sidewalls, the rear end hops too much (at least mine did).
Since the car has been down, I've added subframe bushings, trans mount, poly engine mounts, diff bushings, and a carbon fiber driveshaft. Upgraded the struts to Sachs performance pack dampers with Eibach pro kit springs.

If your car doesn't experience wheel hop, what have you upgraded to control it, if anything? I was also on totally stock suspension

That's my thought too. I've never run a drag radial so why not try them! If the weak sidewall makes the car handle too poorly, I'm going to only run them during...competitive scenarios.

I'm pretty sure I have to much wheel speed to wheel hop.
It just spins, then traction control tries to slow it down even with it turned off.
In second, on the street it spins when boost comes in.

Only mods to the rear is is350 axles, bearings and camaro ss brakes. I also have a 370z carbon driveshaft, it may help with wheel hop, considering its lighter, stiffer and one piece.
It has never wheel hopped but i have had carbon driveshafts in it and never did burn outs on stock axles.
I think the is350 axle shaft is thicker so maybe the stock axles are part of the wheel hop problem by them twisting and springing back from torsional load.

This is the tire I ordered. They were $140 a tire shipped
Susposed to be sticky and loud.
The 595ss I have now, pick up a lot of gravel at the end of the track.
