Thats almost exactly what I was thinking for a replacement front bumper. I can get one made like this as well and make supports to hold the FMIC. has anyone tried different thermostats and have they had any improvement with that? |

For $150 it is very tempting. To have someone fab it up would cost as much or more I would think.
Fullblown, is your shroud available? |

True... unless you have friends who weld and bend tubing. Then it might not cost so much haha. I just have to work on drawing up the dimensions myself. my friend has been looking for additional weld work to do. |

Eventually, to make my car look different, I plan to install that crash bar, and then carefully cut the "mouthpiece" off the front of my BRZ, and install a different screen grill.
This will open the front grill hole up substantially, and, if done correctly, will look killer. |

I don't think it'll be too hard. Proper tools is key. Cut the edges wide with a dremel or disc grinder, and then fine tune with sandpaper and block.
It would be difficult to try to cut the edges precicely, but cutting wide and sanding/grinding the edges will do the trick. I've done similar things many times. |

my rev works kit uses one aftermarket fan and one stock fan. i don't have any issues in traffic, and the a/c always stays cold. i live in central florida, so it's usually pretty hot. i'm pretty sure having the one stock fan still there is what does it.

Get a turbo kit with a sensible turbo location, rather than putting band aids on poor turbo placement.
P tuning for example. |

While I can see your point, and it is probably valid to a certain extent, heat rises.. The PTuning kit would probably have less heat though due to airflow going through the front grill. But with a top mounted turbo, and a vented hood, I would think there would be less heat then a lower mount turbo since the heat would be escaping almost instantly from the turbo near the vents. Yes I'm aware that the turbo isn't the only part that generates heat, but it's one of the major contributors.. Just my 2¢

@Brody602 I've been looking at vented hoods...but they're all so...fast and furious. If only there was something along the lines of the M3 hood. Something discreet but functional. |

@Gen Seibon TS seems to be the best combination of Function/Subtle.

I was overheating in 80F stop and go traffic after 10 minutes on the stock radiator. Haven't had any issues under normal street conditions with the FBM radiator + FBM oil cooler. Took the car to the track for the first time yesterday and....heat was the primary issue. I'm surely going to get whatever shroud @FullBlown comes up with, but I'd jump on a painted vented hood if it didn't look rice. The heat you feel opening the engine bay after a good thrashing is intense.
