What are port to dealership times looking like now? Anyone take delivery recently?

Hi all,

Unfortunately I had my BRZ flooded but I luckily found a 23' GR86 allocated. Just trying to gauge an idea of when the car will arrive at my dealership because there's no way to track the car anymore through API.

Car landed at the port near me 8/13 (10-15 miles away)
Car doesn't need to be transported via rail, just truck to dealer

My buddy at Toyota said port had a ton of issues earlier in the year up to a month or two ago, but now things are moving much faster. Had another friend of a friend that works at the port and verified things are much better.

Seen a few stories of people where they didn't receive any updates or see any updates happen, but the car just magically showed up at the dealer.

Anyone experience QC holds at the port recently? Would love to hear from people that took delivery recently that didn't need a rail transport. Much thanks!

Looks like the port issues have pretty much cleared up but all manufacturers are still struggling with the trucker shortage. Both the US and Canada have had an increasing shortage for several years but it has gotten very bad in the last 2 with the current number at over 80,000 vacancies.
Unfortunately the forecast does not look good for the future.

Gotcha thanks for the info brotha. Yeah I think the trucker shortage is something that will progressively get worse for a bit before it hopefully gets better.

Any idea if someone is able to pick up the car at port? No idea how possible this is but I do remember a couple people asking a while back if they could do that. Likely just going to be as patient as I can and wait, I thought it would be easier the 2nd time around with this car but it's much harder lol

The car must pass through the whole pipeline. The port and distribution points are not set up for final delivery.

I just took delivery on Monday of my BRZ. It was supposed to be delivered 8/9 but sat for about a week waiting for a truck.

Awesome man congrats on the car~ !

Yeah my guess is I'll be the same.. tomorrow will be exactly a week.

Hoping that because the dealer is so close to the port that it'll get delivered the same day when the truck picks it up

Picking up my 23' tomorrow. Came into port mid-day the 18th, cleared customs and was at the dealer early this morning. Total trip time from landing in Brunswick, GA to Orlando FL was about 16 hours. Good luck!

Mine has been sitting at whatever rail head it went to for almost two weeks, they are still looking for drivers. My particular dealer has 36 cars (including mine) waiting their to be delivered.

No current ETA.

Recently took delivery and the port to dealership time was surprisingly quick, around 2 weeks. Seems like the backlog is clearing up. The dealership was efficient in processing the shipment, and I got notified as soon as my car arrived. Overall, quite impressed with Timesavingmachine and the current turnaround times compared to the delays I heard about last year.
