Vaxx hesitancy can also be related to lots of other reasons like religion, fertility, and wanting FDA approval to name a few. Unfortunately, those who see no problem with shredding the Bill of Rights lump them all together as anti-vaxxers with their totalitarian Orwellian newspeak.

As I said, it is a hope - not a prediction. I've seen reports that the human genome shows evidence of exposures to pandemic level pathogens in the distant past to which our bodies eventually adapted and that have vanished into pre-history. I cannot begin to explain the science, but there you have it.

So some people think it CAN happen. Will it this time? Man, my crystal ball threw a rod and is waiting for a K-swap. Absent that, I wouldn't bet on it.

Wrong on both counts. Just look at the pictogram I posted earlier. If all those orange dudes had been vaccinated, the number of white dudes would be slightly higher (for example the number currently hospitalized would move from one to two) but the total number hospitalized would also change (to 2).

This is real-world data that shows the vaccine works exactly like they said it would, about 95%.

Safeway grocery/pharmacy just sent an email that booster shots (they're calling them additional COVID-19 vaccine doses) are available now for free on a walk-in basis if you've already complied with initial CDC recommended dosing. Plus 10% off your next grocery purchase. I'm going to call the pharmacy when they open at 10:00 to see which vaccine they're injecting.

Quick update.

My infected Pfizer vaxxed friend is improving. Crossing our fingers that there are no setbacks.

My PCR came back negative.

The husband of one of my wife's coworkers was working out of state, came home, and promptly developed the virus. She doesn't know his vax status. He has now developed pneumonia. Scuttlebutt at her office is that at least one hospital turned him away due to lack of beds.
