Ooh, ok. Next time must come say hi.

Yip we were braaing at the top. I'm surprised the smell got all the way down there. lol

I see you managed some nice drifts during the open play session at the end. I battled to hold it.

Hah no I walked to the canteen at lunchtime . But thanks - those last drifts felt freakin amaaaazing haha. It's the longest I've managed to hold it - I think I held it for two circles around the pan before having my time run out. And I convinced my mother to come along for some high-revving bonding time. She loved it lol

Drifting it at higher speeds in 2nd is a whole other beast though, because there isn't enough low-down torque to work with, or else you end up going way too fast. I wonder what it will be like after a tune

Aftermarket Headers and a Phoenix Performance tune should sort that torque out quite nicely :

This is sadly being held back by the conflict of interest that is my warranty and motor plan

But at the moment I think I'm going to keep the car "forever", so if Pheonix is still around then, you can whip out this thread to twist my arm

Haha I feel your pain...having said this, some members are happily running around with a tune and headers - just speak to your service manager nicely!

You can bet we will be around! See you then!

Picked up these badboy (basic, lol) gloves from ATS today

Was R350 (Excl VAT), compared to +R1k to R2k for proper gloves,

Im sure you could find similar basic gloves online cheaper, but immediate gratification of walking into a store and buying something makes me 'Feel Good'

So i had all 4 tyres changed last week, and this is what I found...

Almost running on slicks there! Why would the tyres wear off from the inside first though?

How did you not notice that? They're pretty much completely bald.

Either way - negative camber.

Do you check your tyres regulary or are you one of the guys who just get in and gooi?

Pretty much get in and gooi to be honest.

Let's just say that decent 17's with a 215/45 don't come cheap. I would rather save and buy quality than compromise and buy something that would only last a joyrides length :-)

Try these oaks:

http://www.errolstyres.co.za/

They have 225/45/17 Potenza RE002 for around R1200 and they delivery country wide

Also other tires on special, I don't think replacing your tires with 215/45/17 is worth it , rather go 225/45/17 for a better price and better grip

What do you intend buying or already bought ?

Alternatively you can show a tyre shop like Mintys / Autoquip the price listing and ask them to beat it / match it

That's not a bad price at all. Eventually got a set of yoko a drive
R1's for R1200 at autostyle and fitted at Mintys.

A risky wait, no doubt considering the state of the rears. What troubles me the most is that I have checked my alignment periodically. I'll be honest in saying that this is my first car, and I wouldn't have the know-it all wisdom (which is why forums like this are awesome). What I did notice though during my last wheel alignment chela prior to my change of wheels, was that the alignment model was based on a Yaris.... Now I'm no expert to go point out to the fitment centre that they aren't doing the right thing because I wouldn't know myself..... Would it play that big a role?
