I just wish Subaru gain confidence by committing to a proper STI much like the old rally specials.

It's a real shame! They've ditched their greatest hits for mediocrity!

Who said they want to be an M3 jap? The only serious M3 car was the 1st generation. All the rest were focused for the US market, they were heavy and based more on hunger for power.

Comfort/power cars, sounds like euro sedans

Do you know how many BRZs were sold in Canada? In Germany they are extremely rare. I've seen a couple of GT86's, but not even a single BRZ. I am also hearing lately that it is not sure if there will be a second generation. At least not a generation with a boxer engine. Model revision is done and normally they should have started working on the next generation.

Just sell it. If you would not absolutely buy another one, then there is zero reason to spend two years of storage fees and then deal with all the issues you get with storing cars. And there always are issues, no matter how much you pay someone else to take care of it.

so? That does not mean it will ever go up in value. I mean maybe in 50 years it will be worth more, but if you are only talking a few years then just no.

There are simply very few Japanese cars worth more than their original purchase price. And almost no modern car appreciates in value in the short term, never mind an inexpensive mass produced one.

Just an observation, recently a very low mileage Peugeot 205 1.9 GTI sold at auction for £30k (UK sterling) a 20 old car that was mass produced. I think the BRZ is going to be sought after due to it's rarity in the UK.

I don't have a crystal ball so haven't got the foggiest idea what will happen but have seen big jump in values of 80's and 90s hot hatches. Have been following classic car auctions.

Noone knows if it'll take value or not. It depends on many factors, like if some other manufacturer will produce something similar, if there will be a 2nd generation, if it will be better or worst, if there will be a high demand and so on. And of course we are not talking about the next 2 years. Personally, I believe that this platform has a good potential, but in general it is also highly modified which is not very good. Most people who will want to buy such cars in future, will want to have them as stock as possible or close to the factory specs.
