I don't know what the truck's damaged axel has to do with rear damage to the FRS or SUV?

If we assume the the sedan on the far left of the picture, right side of the road, is the Merc, one would think that it had a collision with the front of the truck which at the trajectory leading from the FRS to the truck's presumed location (if truck is stationary, in front of the trucks currently location, if truck is moving forward behind it's current location) should have brought the front of the truck with it to the left of the picture. However, the truck clearly rotated the other direction (no way in hell it pulled a 270 IMO, that kind of force would have launched the truck further left of frame).

Basically, my best conclusion that lines up with OPs description is that at least the truck was in a lane that was moving, the Merc went over the FRS, hit the truck head on, which that collision and the truck hitting brakes caused the (unseen) car behind the truck to wedge itself under the truck's rear bumper. That car swerved to its right (left of frame looking back up the road) pulling the truck's rear with it spinning it 90 degrees CCW.
Now that I can live with. It is pretty much what I said with the addition of the car hitting from behind as well. Some rear pictures would clear that up completely.

My guess is it is the leftmost car in the picture frame looking up the road.

In many societies / ways of life, the number 7 is considered a lucky number ( the number 8 is similar, not exact , but also has positive connotations).

Glad you survived that knarly accident. Enjoying your FR-S as long as you did is Good , and yes if I was in your shoes I'd go for a '17-'19 BRZ MT in the color you want , and at least get a limited ... if not the performance package.

Happy trails to you sir.

It just came to mind, but it's like your #7 was the middle number, and the 86 protected it : 8 (7) 6 . It's all a play on numbers , and as some would say "everything happens for a reason" , but sure does look like the FT-86 was built with safety in mind , which is a nice foundation to start with if I do say so myself.

As a paramedic who has seen a few bad crashes like this in my career, you are pretty lucky to walk away. That car looks like it came down damn near on top of you (or at least cartwheeled off of you). Glad you walked away from it. RIP 86

Lucky boy, that shit could have been real ugly

My limited edition 86 gave up its crumple zones to save my pitiful life after I backed it into a wall.

Your experience though is next level
