How do you intend on building your tranny? The gear sets all out right now cost more than the tranny new. Downright thievery if you ask me, and none of those companies will be receiving any of my money. I'll T56 magnum swap it before I pay that much for a gear set. |

Also, I noticed under hood temps are really high as is with a N/A motor. What the hell? Lol. Is it just producing so much heat due to the 12.5:1 compression? If so I may build the motor and drop it to 11:1. Any lower and pre-boost will suffer I think.

any lower then 12.5:1 pre boost will suffer hahaha! Well when you think about it we are making 200+ HP (depending on mods if any) from a tiny little 2.0L so it makes sense this sucker gets hot we work/rev the crap out of it to make power. Aftermarket headers also introduce alot more under hood heat. The engine bay is also sealed for the most part so that is part of it

Maybe a vented hood should be in the plans then... Hmmmm. Neither of us really like how the vented hoods look is one problem we're going to run in to for sure.

Yeah I am not a fan of most vented hoods, if not all. However I do know of a few things you can do. first thing I will do is get the beatrush undertray, it is vented and air flowing through the rad will have a place to escape under the car increasing cooling as well as taking some hot engine bay air with it, trade off is possible loss in downforce on the front end. Second would be to cut the stock fenders where they fake vents are make make them functional.

While we're on the topic of hoods, which of the hoods are real carbon fiber and not just a thin sheet on top that's going to crack?

Seibon makes some real CF ones but other then that I am not sure. I know far more about other aftermarket areas, but body/cosmetic is not my strong suit. Seibons dry carbon hood is 1 pound lighter and the rest tend to weigh more then OEM depending on the batch. You best bet for performance is those new hood vents you rivet on that CSG made. BTW you should quote me so I get notifications haha.
