m8, your social is not public knowledge. again I havent given anyone any dire information the most you can use the VIN for is to find out where it was last sold and service records (not even specific location). all this over a plate man.

No sure why people are worried about a VIN on the internet though. What would anybody do with it anyway?
My sentiments exactly -

You think every FRS owner has their VIN memorized or is going to read this and say OMG maybe its me let me check my VIN. Doubt it.

Plus he might not be on here maybe a friend is though and will see this and say oh little Jimmy John drives an FRS with Naruto on his license. Yo jimmy john check this forum out.

Probably the worst way of trying to locate someone just put a VIN and Car Model.

Also there is a section in the forums here for FRS/BRZ/86 sightings narrowed by region for this specific thing.
well, again I suppose there is some confusion I'm talking about the plate itself. example: [ ABC 1234 ] not some picture (pretty sure that's not even legal).

then I am not stating the license plate "word" because that's frowned upon, not a VIN.

lastly, I dont have my own VIN memorized. nor would I think anyone else would. I'm well aware it is a shot in the dark and im not here to upset anyone. if that person sees this, goes out and looks at their VIN then sweet. but again, no I dont want to say the plate as people do block those out when taking pictures and I'm not sure why but I will leave the plate out of this. if I dont find them no harm no foul.

And not really sure.

But

Why do most people go through the effort and trouble of removing, covering, or hiding their license plate when taking pictures or videos when posting online?
Because maybe they were parked in front of their mistresses apartment? -

So his license plate numbers/letters is a “word” that is in reference to an anime?

And a license plate number (which is way more exposed and readily available to the public) is frowned on to be posted online, but the VIN (which you have to physically walk up to the car and check) is acceptable to post? I don’t follow this logic.

Welp, if you have the license plate number and VIN, there are several sites on the internet, for a small fee, where you can look up the information on the owner.

Didn't bother with servicing, don't believe in that shite.. and I'm pleased to say that I sold it for top dollar as it looked like new, just a whisper of white smoke from the tailpipes.

theres got the be a reason people block out license plates but give their VIN when selling or whatever. I dont know what that reason is but, again not looking to upset anyone. so I was just following the social norm of keeping the plate out of it. and yes it is a characters name and mine is the other main characters name. I want that one aswell but, after looking it up it's a fellow frs owner somewhere in my same state.

so I came here. again, if I dont find anything that's fine. I'm not paying some shotty site to run some background as thatd be some creepy stuff (and against the law) so if I find them thatd be neat if not no harm no foul

May i at least redirect you to the michigan brz/frs spotted thread.
https://www.ft86club.com/forums/show...30771&page=233

If you’re not located in Michigan there is a spotted/sighted thread for every region.

Things I do have memorized, even at age 73:

One of my phone numbers I've had for 14 years.

My Military ID number from 1968.

My Soc Sec Number...from when acquired ?

The Vehicle Identification number for a 1972 Chevrolet Vega Wagon I ordered in October of 1971. I owned it 27 years till a tree fell on it.
