Hate to be the party pooper, but if you want to be an asshole on the internet and get technical we can.

An expanded inlet hose with the deletion of the sound tube combined with a performance air filter makes the cars throttle much more touchier than rocking all OEM.

Also, for someone who's never heard a sound clip of my car, that's quite a bias comment to make. What you may consider shitty, I may like.

Lastly. I also did indicate pretty much that my car is near stock, and that not much is done to it and also indicated that my car is still in the torque dip stage which is obvious but maybe your old age got to you and you were a lil to thick to understand that, my bad.

Did you guys see this
? I am not talking about the Miata. In the end, they bring a Dodge Charger Hellcat in the mix. And ... with its 700hp and no torque dip whatsoever, Hellcat was 10 seconds slower than 86 on the same track although it is 3 seconds faster on quarter mile straight line.

To the torque dip complainers: you don't understand what 86 and BRZ are. You simply bought the wrong car. Just go buy a muscle car we will all be happier.

Gong back to the video, they chose Miata in the end. But I would never choose Miata over 86 if it really drives like a river boat seen in this picture, look at the body roll of Miata compared to 86. Goto 15:25 on the video to see the full sequence at that corner.

Don't you think the new Miata looks like this

"Torque Dip" is most common on this board and other internet forums. In the real world it seems to not exist.

It's really a non issue. Unless you're drag racing a twin for some rediculous reason.

Still wouldn't be an issue since the only time you'd be traveling through the dip is in 1st gear where the mechanical torque of the gearing is enough to make it hardly noticeable.

The main issue with the torque dip I see is for daily driving. Where the dip is where most people would shift resulting in the car feeling sluggish and slow. It's amazing how low the amount of people who claim to be "enthusiasts" actually rev a car out.

You're delusional if you really think it doesn't exist.

Obviously, there's dyno proof of the dip.

In reality, you can just downshift in order to get the car into the powerband for DD.

I agree. If people just floor the throttle at 1500 rpm and wait for the engine to rev above 4000 rpm, that delay feels sluggish. That is a muscle car expectation. With a downshift to the powerful rpm band (>4000 rpm), this car is very quick. What I don't understand is the obsession with manual transmission while many of those cannot use that stick. There is the connection to the car many of those claim they wanted to have by choosing manual transmission. Even with my supercharger and no torque dip, I still have to downshift if I want to launch the car ... with the automatic transmission.

1. IIRC, the driver of the Hellcat wasn't even trying to get a fast lap time. There are plenty of modern muscle cars that will outperform an 86 on the track these days.

2. You talk about how the torque dip doesn't matter, yet you have a supercharger installed on your car. Obviously you felt the need to spend 5k to get more power.

Ouch. It's true, too.
