digital clocks always break in all cars, so why would I want my whole dash to die after a few years too? It's silly and too expensive to replace for what it's worth.

If it were running Pandora, it would have to have either a 3 4g mobile service that you would have to pay for monthly. I'll just keep plugging my Droid in the Aux and play Pandora that way.

Or get a mi-fi for your car. I don't have a data plan yet, but I mifi connects up to 5 devices so I could have my iPad and phone streaming music in my auto.

Ive never had trouble with Digital clocks or Digital dashes.
Owned a few Subaru Vortexs ( XTs) that were fitted Digital dashes and read outs. Never gave trouble. Most of mine were 1986 models and had done over 300,000kms.
Ive had more trouble with analog clocks and dashes lol.

Always thought this was cool. I'd be down for it. But...

Don't know if many are aware, but Toyota is rolling out it's Touch & Go audio interface, which is a 6.1 touch screen for audio info with bluetooth and usb connectivity, cd/mp3 audio, backup display and one or two other do dads. Can be upgraded with full nav or to (I assume) toyota's upcoming Entune system (akin to ford Sync). Pretty sure every new Toyota is coming with that, so the FT-86/FR-S probably will too.

Touch & Go/ Direct Access Audio

Entune

Well yeah but thats basically the same thing. A mifi (or mobile broadband modem) is gonna cost about 50 bucks a month whereas if you have a smartphone already you can just use it through the aux port. If you're lucky like me and are grandfathered in on your data plan you will be unlimited where mobro/mifi new accounts will not be as lucky. Still cool though.

Well it looks like I was wrong; the FR-S will get the same parts bin Scion/Pioneer head unit as the rest of the line-up. At least it has bluetooth streaming and USB/aux input. It's likely the snazzy Pandora integrated w/touchscreen will be a typical dealer-installed option.
