I can say that the well matched springs and dampers (for the platform) I have now (10k front, 12k rear) aren't as stiff as the badly matched dampers/springs (all damper, no spring) on my previous car, and those were still good dampers in the best setup I could give them (limited optuons.)

It's never as simple as it seems.

If someone took a small amount of time to calculate the wheel rate/frequency at each standard spring rate front and rear for this chassis then anyone wondering how "stiff" there setup was could reference that data. You could say the OEM setup felt this way which is 1.25hz and my new spring set felt this much stiffer and its at 1.9hz. Now you have something to compare to get a feel for how stiff any other set of springs would be.

Wheel frequencies can be compared to any other car's wheels frequencies as well so you can relate your other car/future car and make educated decisions on future setups. I believe all the data one would need is available in the suspension model sticky.
There's a good thread somewhere with frequencies posted, but I always have trouble finding it. Also has swaybar wheel rates.

EDIT: it's in a sticky at the top as well. Probably could stand on it's own though.

We had a good little discussion in this thread:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1873825

It had some reference material that could help OP and guidelines for what different natural frequencies feel like.

I wonder if @CSG Mike will try and get the word stiff out of the dictionary and replace with firm...

So all someone needs to do is take the same info and apply different spring rates to the equations and make a list.
