Request: Magnetic seat belt lock

http://modifry.com/products/sbl/index.htm

I use a CG Lock, but ran across this and like the idea. With all the brilliant minds on this forum, does anybody know if it can be made to work on an FR-S/BRZ?

Thanks in advance.

I was thinking of something like this, may take a look at the retractor one night and let you know if I come up with anything.

I could see this working, seat belts lock based on a *clutch*, which engages at high pulling force on the belt. If the clutch, or something coupled to it can be attracted by a magnet into the locked position, it would always be locked.

The question is what is ours made of? I guess the first test would be to pull the reel out and use a magnet to see if you can lock it in this manner. Then it could be worth looking for a way to mount an electromagnet like the one in this kit.

Please note that non-magnetic does NOT mean it is a crappy material, and either way is completely safe.

Pull the seatbelt out all the way til it clicks, then let it in all they way it should lock when you do that.
