When I realized how much my Basset used to love staring out the front window, I turned the chair around for her. She preferred the arm rather than the seat. Bassets be strange.

Today is Haru's birthday! He's two years old.

I went to some bougie pet store the other day and got him a couple special birthday treats.

If I didn't know any better I'd think this was a normal, human cupcake (it's made with carob instead of chocolate and other dog friendly ingredients):

Right out of college I had a cocker spaniel. The place that I would kennel her when travelling sold dog biscuits that were basically a dog and human friendly chocolate chip cookie shaped like milk bone. They were very good.

Haha not this time. It totally looked edible. The guy at the store said it had beef or something in it. Probably would've been one of those foods like in that one show on Netflix where they have a challenge to make a food that doesn't look like what it'll taste like lol.

I have tried this one cheese puff treat thing of his. Was basically a flavorless Cheeto lol.

we all agree dogs have an elevated sense of smell.

so why do none of their treats smell to me like what the package says it's supposed to be?

One of the ones Haru gets has pretty decent ingredients, no weird chemicals or anything. And yet, it weirdly smells like.... printer store or something. I don't understand it at all. But it's his favorite treat lol.

i'm waiting for my arm to get back to me. this evolution thing where i grow a 3rd arm would be great to happen sooner rather than later!
