Very true only time will tell, so far it all looks promising.

Very interested in the header.

They should have started with the header first.

Catback's and the remainder of the exhaust will most likely require a redesign after they remove the major source of exhaust noise suppression... the factory header... Just sayin

I must say those exhausts look really GOOD!

Looking forward to seeing the finished product and the UEL.

Wow looks really good! If the rest of the specs are up to par, sign me up for one!

Guys, I just gave Holley a call and I will be going over there after lunch to check out the UEL catless header and header w/ cat prototype.
I also talked to them again about this forum and it looks like they will be purchasing a company FR-S for their long term development. They really want to be involved on this platform and want to offer the best possible solutions since they are late to market. They also are throwing around the idea of a tuner but that takes 6-9 months from start to finish of development.
Pics to come!!!!!!

Guys, here are some shots of the prototype UEL header and the header w/ cats. I had very limited time but I managed to take some installed shots of the UEL header on and off my car but only had a chance to shoot the header w/ cat off my car.

I do really like the "race inspired" thermal expansion spring slip joint set up over the flex pipes on the market right now, plus, the engineer in charge said that he choose the slip joint/spring design since it flows better than flex pipes, plus it makes install easier since the cylinder are opposing sides.

I should get the car back for the holidays with the header w/ cats prototype on as they would like for me to drive it 500 to 800 miles to ensure the CEL does not emit.

Thermal expansion spring slip joint .. imho redundant. Several headers out there without them and not showing up any problems due that, but it will make production more expensive. Instead of those slip joints i'd rather spend design/manufacturing budget to get longer runners in and shallower angle merges by eliminating those short tubes pre/post cat, or between merge point and header flange.
Also any aftermarket header can sooner or later throw out CEL, even catted ones. Even with spacers for O2 sensor. Hence i wouldn't spend lot of time on trying to avoid that, but would rather concentrate efforts on fine tuning ecu tune to get most power out of headers. Tune will take care about CELs anyway.

Nice work OP.

I agree with churchx, and would like to see pics of the collector.

They also did it not only for thermal expansion but also make it an easier install the for the consumer. Having opposing ends, it allows you to close up/lengthen the flange to get it accurately over the studs.

I will drive it for the holidays after they dyno and need about 500 to 800 miles with multiple key cycles so we'll see if my car emits a CEL. I should get it back this Friday.

I'll try to get collector shots Friday when I pick up the car. From what the engineer was trying to explain to me, they choose a mitered merge collector over a formed collector to precisely tune the collector length/volume instead of universal formed collectors and the mitered merge collectors also allow more length to the primary tubes.

If the collector looks good its probably going to be a more competitively priced alternative to Tomei. I am actually glad some large American companies are taking interest in this vehicle.
