First road trip for my FR-S...am I being paranoid?

My Whiteout FR-S is a little over a week and a half old and I am getting ready to head 430 miles north from central Florida to northeast Atlanta this weekend to spend time with family. I know there are things we cannot control when it comes to road debris hitting the car while traveling. However, if there is something I can do to protect the paint on the car I would like to try. What is everyone's thoughts on protecting the front end of the car with painter's tape? I definitely do not have $$ for a bra. Oh, total mileage for the trip is going to be around 860 miles because of course I have to drive back! Thank you ahead of time for your thoughts!

Your car will be dinged by jerks in parking lots, rocks will chip the paint, windshields will be cracked, and you might be in a fender bender. No matter what you do something will happen.

You buy a car to drive. Only garage queens stay in perfect condition.

I saw a thread the other night about oem touch up paint, definitely thinking about getting some or asking for them as a late Xmas gift.

Well this is comforting! Wondering if these stats will give you info on the driving experience level of the FR-S drivers....

Instead of taping the front of your car, work on not tail gating the guy in front of you and that will go a long way towards keeping the nose of your car clean.

Thanks @whaap, I appreciate the suggestion. I find that not tailgating people on the highway also helps you avoid accidents, gives you time to react and move to a safe area. This is one of the first lessons I learned from living in Florida with all the heavy rain that can pop up out of nowhere. In the almost 4 years that I've lived here, I have witnessed close to 4-5 people spinning out on the highway after a hard rain and had I not had a considerable distance between us, I would have been toast!
