we hired a new guy, 18-19ish, fresh out of high school, started this past monday. pulls up in a big 2010 diesel truck with massive chrome wheels and flickering halo's... he might have more money wrapped up in wheels than i paid for the brz...

monday, he's all excited, tells me "i've always wanted to be an electrician", and how "he wants to learn to fix the wiring on his truck" he "loves working with his hands"

thursday, my dad asked how he liked working here.. head buried in his phone, "it's alright."

i don't know if this one's gonna make it.

Studio at school was right above a social security office. We'd been evacuated the week before due to a bomb threat. What they didn't know...
My college had a bomb threat once in a different building. While the authorities were interviewing all the computer-ish majors, a bunch of us engineering students in the "dungeon" (all our labs were in the basement of the admin building) got to theorizing what kind of bomb we could make with the supplies on hand between the chem lab, machine shop, etc. The answer was of course not a very good one without actual explosives. I miss those days...

In a past life I may, or may not have hung out after hours with some interesting chemical engineering students at New Mexico Tech (AKA Mining U)

Pretty sure the only thing keeping us from making a homemade nuke or dirty bomb is legal reasons and laziness.

If the internet has proven anything, even the slightest amount of petty retaliation can set a forest on fire.

That is a bummer. We have had a string of good luck with new employees lately. I got this kid and production picked up 3 that are very promising so far. One is only 19, has an early 80's Chevy K10 that he swapped in an old 12 valve 6BT with his dad's help.

Looked over dash cam footage since my car had been rear ended. Turns out the dealer idiot back my car into something and didn’t bother to tell me.
