New OFT on previously tuned car

I recently purchased a FBO 2015 BRZ, and the car is currently tuned. Its not ECUTEK, so I have narrowed it down to more likely than not OFT. I bought a used tablet on here and it arrives on Monday. My question is will I be able to pair this tablet to a car that is already tuned, and will I be able to see what tune it currently is running? Thanks in advance guys

As an update to anyone who is reading, I was right about it being an OFT tune, but the CalID on the car matches a 2013 EU 6MT ending in a01g. I am contacting OFT to see how to proceed unless anyone on here has a suggestion. I am wondering if I can just load the shelf tune for the my2015 us spec brz onto the OFT. The tunes for the a01g calid couldn't even be loaded onto the tablet.

EDIT: the current tune when opened in notepad shows 2 instances of D00C and 1 of A01G. Would I be correct in thinking that using the v4 D00C maps from OFT would work?

My understanding is that A01G is better defined but I could be wrong. My car is e-tuned and should be an A01C, but is using A01G. I would just leave the current tune in it, my experience with the V4 tunes is that they are mediacore and you really are not gaining anything switching.

@NoHaveMSG my issue was that I didn't know what tune was in the car, when plugging the oft in it only showed the a01g designation and no other info. (stg1, stg2, or even what fuel it was tuned for). I used some information from an old post by @steve99 RIP, that suggested to find out the correct CalId, you open the .ori file in notepad and crtl-f the first 4 of the CalId and go by the one that isnt a01g. This allowed me to load the correct tunes from their site to the tablet and then to the car. '

On a sidenote, the tune that was on it felt like it wasn't very well done tbh, and the v4 is much better after setting the IAM from .7 to 1. I intend to get a real e tune down the line anyway but now I have the piece of mind of knowing what exactly the car is running. Also e85 lmao.

To recap, you bought a car with an OFT tune already on it. Then you got a used OFT tablet and reflashed the car? Or?

Yes, I bought it from a dealer who insisted it wasnt tuned. I saw the headers and knew they were wrong, but figured it was going to save me money in the long run not having to buy all the mods myself. came FBO with tien coils, enkei's, the works. When i started digging into the car I figured out it was an OFT tune, albeit a hackjob of one with shitty backfiring. I reflashed it to the v4 stage 2 tune from OFT's site and now its running much better.

Yeah... Cause that totally proves there's a tune on the car.

Re-read what you EXACTLY posted.
No mention in that sentence of the other stuff.

Just pointing out what was said is wrong given the info provided.
No CEL and a backfire can also happen minus a header.

Wanna continue?

ok silly, i made an educated guess based on the current modifications that the car wasnt running the stock rom, which i ended up being right about. is that better? hahah

And yes you were almost certainly right.

But dipshits who use/search google and come across these forums may come across your false statement and assume its true.

thats fair, i wasnt trying to come off confrontational, or to assert that header=tune 100% of the time. just that to most of us in the car world it could have been reasonably assumed.

the whole point of this thread, besides asking for help, was to document my solution. after searching for some time i had to piece it together, so i wanted all the information in one place for people who end up in the situation i was in. i would hate for any misinformation to screw that up

Would have been nice to know these details when you were originally asking.
