Exclamation MY OFT ISNT LETTING ME TUNE/ READ MY ECU???

I was trying to put a tune on my oft and I was waiting for it to finish up and a few minutes later, an error popped up and then it said that the oft hasn’t been used yet or isn’t married to my car… I plugged it into my car (pressed tuning)to read the car it says unknown VIN and popped up an error code of ecu 10013

Please help me out!! 😰

I also went into real time display and everything was working fine, it was reading my throttle and stuff but can’t tune the car??

Very desperate because I have my stock tune on it and don’t want to loose it

Make sure you have the cable completely plugged into the OBD2 port. I ran into a similar issue recently and it was as simple as that.

The port in these isn't as securely mounted as in other cars I own or have owned. So I now make sure to kind of wrap my hand around both the port and the cable to make sure it seats completely.

I’ve tried that, it still didn’t want to read… the open flash app also said that the oft hasn’t been used

You did it backwards. The first thing you should have done was read the stock tune from the car, not try to write a tune to the tablet if I am understanding what you wrote.

How to fix that? No clue, other than contact OFT.

I’ve read the stock tune. Pretty sure you can’t tune the car if you haven’t read the stock tune.

FWIW I ran into an issue with ecutek where the program would read the ecu but not flash. Problem was the obd port. Female pins in the port were not making contact. I depinned the port, bent the pins tabs inwards, then got an extension harness and connected it and zip tied it together to the port. Now everything is reading perfectly. The obd port in these cars does not like wider connector pins like those present in the ecutek cable or oft.

This just happened to me while trying to update my oft and upload new tunes. Now, it won't let me read my ecu and/or upload anything since it is saying it has to read the ECU first. OFT Code 10013 is always there.

I’ve gotten a advice from a dads mate who works at mitsubitshi, he said either get a new ecu or contact oft (which I did but oft has a shit response time) and I’m honestly considering getting a new ecu ngl…

I have the same problem. Actually, what's the cause of that problem? I don't know. I think the new update ECU option is not available. But if that's the latest update is the problem, then there should to fixed that.

First of all, never listen to that guy again.

Have you contacted OFT yet so they can tell you what the error is related to? The OFT FB groups can be helpful and Shiv is there more than he is at work responding to customer inquiries.

They are really bad at email. There maybe someone on the FB group that can help you. Lot of people that have a good amount of knowledge there.

Ok so after a few months pass… I’ve made a new ticket to them a few days ago and they responded!! They sent me a recovery process link/ steps and I don’t know if I want to do it yet because I’m the recovery process they said “This process will erase your OFT, making your device "new" again, and ready for installation on a new car.” And I’m kinda sussed out because I did not make a copy of my original tune on my computer so the only copy I have is on the tablet. So have 3 theories..
1-it’ll just completely wipe everything and still have my original tune on it.
2-when it says “making my device “new” again” it makes me think that it’ll wipe everything off it and “unmarry” itself.
3-itll still be married but wipe everything off it.

I don’t 2 would be the case because to “unmarry a car, you need to load your original tune back to your car to actually unmarry it. But idk, please help me.
