I'm in. NJMP is an hour away from me. What will I need to race? my car is stock. In the meantime, there's always kart racing in New Castle, DE for anyone who's interested. I go on Tuesday nights for $20 endurance races. |

The NY Chapter of the BMW CCA is doing NJMP Lightning on April 10th if you guys are interested. It'll be great to shake off the cobwebs after all this snow. I'll be bringing the FR-S to this event as I've already done that track with the other car. -Mike |

For your first time on track you'll need surprisingly little. These cars are incredibly capable. All I did out of the box was an oil change with Mobil 1, stainless brake lines, replaced the factory pads with Performance Friction 08's, flushed the brake system with Castrol SRF, used Enkei RPF1 wheels with Direzza Z2's and the car did VERY well for a 2 day instructor level school at Watkins Glen. Lightning is actually a great starter track. Easy to remember (we won't discuss the arial view) and fun. -Mike |

As Mike (Uplink) pointed out above, there are some great resources in the Track section on this forum. Also in response to what some have asked, here are two great links telling you what you need to know and think about for your first track day. Study them -- lots of good info!!!
What BMW Uplink? http://www.michiana-bmwcca.com/Track/Novices http://www.boston-bmwcca.org/_Upload...iversGuide.pdf I should note that every group has a slightly different procedure. But 90% of what is in these guides will apply to groups other than BMWCCA such as NASA, Hooked on Driving, PCA, Track Daze etc. I run more events with NASA simply because they are always on weekends and they run at NJMP very frequently.

Ironically, no BMW. Corvette. I started driving with the BMW guys because they welcomed all car people, regardless of what you drove. They also DROVE their cars. Most of the local Vette guys were either 1/4 mile only or lawn chair and q-tip guys.

Hi all, I am looking to move to Middletown in the next 6 months from NC. I saw the tint laws are different from NC but while I was looking I saw laws about exhaust modifying. I only have a Zeta Catback on the BRZ right now but am planning on changing out the rest after I pick up an OFT. Am I going to get a ticket / not pass emissions? |

Hey man you should be fine with just your cat back but I would wait till after inspection to complete the rest just to be safe and as for Tint you need a Tint waiver
