I know it's likely to be stupid expensive but the Hummer EV is exciting to me. The specs are so outrageous it makes me want one. The removable roof panels don't hurt the cool factor.
Yeah I mean I got a Chevy Spark for a rental the other day... The red gave it +15hp. Don't be decieved by it's appearance I was out there taking souls, lol. Anyway even driving spirited I went from Orlando MCO to Space Coast (Titusville near Cape Canaveral) on $3.50! (2 gals) Not much room to save money there.

If it had had racing stripes and maybe a couple of stickers you would have been easily reaching V1 speeds with it!

bumping it up to 33MPG with the hybrid makes it a very compelling vehicle for most usage scenarios in suburban settings, especially with that space.

current hybrid batteries last a long time and aren't that expensive, the backbreaker is the transmission.
The Seinna sold 73,000 units last year. The Dodge Caravan sold 122,000.

But...

The Caravan was supposed to end production May 22 and has been pushed out to mid July to fill existing orders.
Once the Caravan is gone the Seinna will be able to fill the gap and could see a huge jump in sales if Toyota is prepared for that increase. FCA seems to think if they don't make the Caravan then the Pacifica sales will increase but with a whopping 4,000 sold in 2019 I think they are a tad optimistic.

Basically what I've noticed with my fiancee's corolla. That thing sips gas and doesn't really cost much to fill up (even before gas was basically free). She has a 60km round trip commute and still pretty much fills up just once every two weeks.

but how many of those were fleet sales? rental Caravan/Pacifica are a dime a dozen.

hybrid has worked out great for me.

my ES300h is about 12-13 gallons to fill up from the empty light and can get me almost 550 miles a tank, mostly 450-500. on a bad day it gets me ~32MPG.

my 2015 Legacy is about 18-19 gallons to fill up from empty and gets at most ~400 miles a tank, mostly 300-350. on a bad day I'd be lucky to get 20MPG tops.

Doesn't matter. The lack of the Caravan will open up the market for the Sienna to take more of share even the fleet and rental areas.

And the mileage is exactly why thy are focusing their development on hybrids.

I'm not sure if Toyota plans to ramp up new Sienna production. Like Tundra, production is already maxed out. Maybe if the new Sienna sells well, they'll add a shift, but I think it's more like getting everything out of the same TMNA platform used in Camry, Avalon, RAV4, and now new Venza and Sienna.

I recall during Supra reveal that someone on Japan staff said it will be the last ICE only car they produce for the US. That was around the time they offered all of their hundreds of hybrid synergy drive patents to everyone for free.
