NASHCARR's 2020 Hakone

Hello from Cincinnati.

I just purchased a 2020 86 Hakone Edition. The car came with TRD lowering springs, TRD sway bars, TRD air filter, all season mats (car will never see winter lol), rear mat with rear bumper applique. I was going to order this car come Spring, but I was offered a great deal that I couldn't turn down. I was a bit bummed that Brembos and Sachs dampers were not available, but the car will stay stock so it really doesn't matter. I really liked the color! THE BRZ colors are really boring. This car won't be modded (maybe a Borla or TD exhaust and I also have an OEM titanium STi shift knob left over from my 2010 STi) since I have my 1995 NA8 Miata for the mod bug. I may swap in better brake pads (G Loc) come Spring.

Looking goooooood!

I'm going to hold you to the "no modding" plan. -

Second reminder - stay waaaaay back from the parking stops, especially with the TRD springs.

See you over on the Miata photo game.

Already have an STi titanium shift knob from my 201 STi. No money spent there. I wanted the OEM TRD exhaust, but the car did not come with it. I'll probably add that and that's it!

Oh, yes, one should have some sort of aftermarket muffler -

Welcome to the club, and a fellow Cincinnati friend!

There is a local Cincy facebook group and an Ohio one with a lot of us in the area. We like to do cars and coffee, Full Throttle days, etc.

Cincinnati 86: BRZ/FRS/86 Owners
Ohio 86

I hope I get to see this color in person!

Well, I traded in the Hakone 86 on a 2020 BRZ tS. Why? Because the TRD spring set up really sucked and the wife was constantly bitching about it. I could have bought new coilovers and started down the mod path (big brakes, lighter wheels, better tires, etc..) and I didn't want to do that. So I took the coilover money and used it on a new tS (which got me a better suspension than the 86, better brakes, better wheels and tires, better stereo and a real back up camera lol). So the Hakone 86 went to Charlotte, NC and we did a turn and burn back to Cincy all in the same day. We left at 6 am arrived at the dealer at 1:30 pm and made it home about midnight. The 2020 BRZ tS is so much better than the Hakone 86 and the wife didn't make a negative comment the whole way home. I think that the TRD springs are not matched well to the dampers at all..that or they forgot to put the bumpstops back in....either way it sucked on Ohio roads.

Damn how could you pass up that green?!?! /s. The ts seems like an awesome package, especially if you have no intention to mod it.

So you needed to change out springs & get an alignment for ride quality change but instead bought a whole other new car because of wife complaining?

You're wild man lol

We found a less expensive way of dealing with mrs humfrz's comments about the ride quality of our FR-S. She just takes 2 Prozac pills, 30 minutes before we depart and then makes believes she is in a vibrating recliner.

When we arrive, she is relaxed and rested -

Happy wife, happy life. Considered coilovers and swapping to stock springs, but for the $3000 I put down on the new one, I got better brakes, better wheels, better stereo, better oem suspension etc...

I only miss the green, the tS is a way better car. We took it through the Dragon last weekend, and it was great!
