This vacuum pump thing is new to me. Does the FA20 not pull enough on it's own?

Something about the automatic. Can't use manifold vacuum for the booster so it has that cam-driven vacuum pump.

My money is on the vacuum pump. All symptoms point to it. Automatic Transmission, ticking noise from back passenger side, RPM's dropping low enough to the point where it almost dies before shooting back up.. The part costs like $150 and will be like a 30minute to 1 hour job.

Get it fixed and let us know if that was the problem.

Replacing the vaccume pump did absolutely nothing. It is doing exactly the same thing. I have no clue what is wrong becides something inside broke. I do know this was not the vacuum pump

Well, that sucks. Drop in a used motor from the same year and hope for the best. That's the cheapest option.

Trade the car for a manual. Doing a swap is just ripping your money up into little pieces and setting it on fire.

Dang. Well how much do you want for the old vacuum pump then? I can buy it off you.
