Camshaft Position Sensor Or VVT ?

Ok, I've searched the forum, but don't see this particular issue anywhere. My 13 FRS has thrown a po366 code, which my code reader says is "camshaft position sensor B circuit range/ performance bank 1". It would seem to me that the CPS and VVT are working in tandem...replace one and you should also replace the other. Just looking for some clarification....Thanx

Did you change the oil? I had P0365. Start with an oil change. The cam geometry (for valve timing) works by pumping oil in and out and if it's low or dirty it can get messed up.

Are you still under warranty? If so, and the oil change doesn't fix it, the dealer will replace the sensor.

The Cam Position Sensor only tells the ecu where the cam is compared to the crank. The computer changes the duty cycle of VVT actuator to hit the commanded cam angle. The computer has limits on how far it can change duty cycle to hit the target.

Your problem could be the actuator, sensor, phaser, or out of timing.

Did you find what was wrong with your car?
I'm getting a P0341 and everything around VVT in TechStream software is set to 0 (VVT OCV, Target VVT angles, etc..)
