I agree, the round LED pattern is very distinct and cannot be mistaken for any other car. I feel the 2017+ LED strip just looks like every other Kia, Audi, etc, that has adopted a steamlined LED tail light design.

Yep. The root cause of the issue isn't the lights or even the gasket but the way the trunk lid drains right over top of them. All the water flowing off the roof and the rear of the car flows through the drainage channels. When that volume of water is funneled over a seal then the chances of a leak from even the smallest gap are pretty high.

I didn't have any condensation issues. Even after washing the car with high pressure hoses, that part under the trunk was dry. There was no water near the lights.
