Nu Finish?
Does any one have any opinion on using Nu Finish? I have used it int eh past on other cars, boats, etc. but nothing that was new (mostly the family cars).
With all the rain we are about to be getting here in Florida I would really like something that is going to last through the summer and help protect the paint since my car is a D and out in the elements all the time. My thought was to do a full clay and then seal with Nu Finish and maybe use a carnuba wax over that depending on how it look and touch that up every few months depending on how it looks. Any opinions on this route? I am considering this simply because form my understanding Nu Finish is a great sealant for paint that is already pretty clean. |

There are plenty of affordable products on the market today that offer spectacular results and protection. I am using Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant right now. Its fantastic stuff, lasts about 6 months, has a nice hard candy like look to it. It costs about $35 and lasts forever when applied thin like any wax or sealant should be. Nu Finish is for an old beater if even for that to be honest. |

I get a lot of rain here and there up here in Canada and the key is just weekly maintenance. Even though I know it's going to rain, I still give it a good wash and wax, even if it's a quick wax with Meguiar's Tech Wax or something similar, just to help protect from the hard water and acidity of the rain. If you only wash it when you know it's going to be nice, you'll never wash your car lol! I try to do mine twice a week, minimum once. My car is nice n fresh besides the dead bugs and stone chips T_T lol

Nu-Finish is good if you have expectations of durability of protection. It does not make your paint pop better than the shine you started with.
I have used back in the day "Classic Car Wax" It was very hard going on and just as hard coming off,it would bead like nothing else, but did not last very long. I've used Maguiars products for cleaning, polishing and waxing for a very good shine, but the same short lived durability. The same results for Mother's products. So now I just use Nu-Finish because it gives an OK shine ,but lasts a good length of time , say 4 to 6 months out in the weather 24/7. |

Yes I am well seasoned at 68 yo. I used Classic Car wax on my 1966 VW beetle. I used to wax the bug on most weekends. My neighbor then said that I should slow down on the waxing as I was liable to rub the paint right off of the car! That stuff would give you Popeye arms!

My truck gets Nu Finish, easy on, easy off, provided you don't let it age on there, lol. It does dust a lot though.
BRZ gets Zaino. |
