i'm still pissed that they removed the manual spark advance from the concept!

Speaking Klingon to me now lol. I'm being harsh but some of us see a sports car and then something with an automatic. Heel and toeing may be difficult to learn but honestly does elevate the driving experience. I've tested racecars, raced shifter karts. Totally get maximum efficiency on track. But for the road, analog all the way if you please. And I wish it had hydraulic steering and double wishbone up front.

you're the one that brought up the 'purity in driving' concept. look up spark advance, and what the dirty computer does for us automatically.

the reality is that enthusiasts will always want slightly more than the automakers give us. it never just stops at manual transmissions.

Will do. And I agree. But I think it's fair to have the opinion that an automatic really takes away from the experience in this case.

Yep. And someone else can have the opinion that you’re wrong, equally valid.

I personally think you’re right though.

My wife (and Mother and Grandmother and Great-Grandmother) all knew how to drive manuals, as I rode with all them. My Grandmother taught me to drive a manual car in her Corvair, although technically my first manual was a Ford tractor.

You may need to buy a #stoptheelectrics soap box to go along with it.

Hey look, I get it, I love a good manual car as well. I'm just bi-transmission.

I agree, and I also think it's fair to believe it changes the experience but doesn't take anything away from it (at least with modern sports AT transmissions)

Doc you are completely entitled to your opinion. But based on what you said, no matter how much money you make in the future, you are not allowed to buy any Porsche PDK, any new Ferrari, mclaren, lambo or supercar because they are auto and take way from the experience.

Totally fine. Sports are different than performance cars is another one of my opinions. Former NA Evora owner. I'd take the new Emira over all of them.

Your not on a #savethemanuals soap box, your just being a bit of a **** to people that choose to drive these great cars in an auto.

I don't think that anyone is disputing that manual is the most rewarding and engaging way to experience this car (and a lot of other cars), or that they shouldn't have manuals.

The thing is not everyone wants the car for the same reasons as you, or has the same requirements, and neither does choosing an auto mean that its not an awesome experience to drive a low and tight sports car.
